The purpose of receiving a dermaplaning treatment from your team of experts at Allied Medical Aesthetics is to allow a deep exfoliation of the epidermis and to aid in the cellular turnover process.
Dermaplaning is a simple & safe procedure that removes the uppermost layer of skin, smoothing the surface of the skin, and increasing your product penetration with the added benefit of removing the fine vellus hairs (peach fuzz). Dermaplaning will help maintain a more youthful appearance, rejuvenate the skin and achieve a healthy, vibrant glow & will allow for that flawless makeup application as all your products will lay closer to the skin.
Your dermaplaning treatment is a manual treatment done with a small hand-held blade. It has ZERO downtown and is indicated for all skin types & may be done in conjunction with a mask or chemical peel depending on skincare goals. Dermaplaning is safe to do every 3-4 weeks to keep up with desired results.
Typically the face and a portion of the neck are the most commonly treated areas. However, you could treat other areas after proper consultation and clinical examination by our Licensed Medical Aestheticians to avoid any complications.
Dermaplaning treatments start at $100 and range up to $125 when paired with a mask. A dermaplane can be added to many other skincare services for only $50. Please inquire about our Monthly Membership options and our Beauty & Wellness Express as they are both excellent ways to save on your next dermaplaning treatment.
Results from a dermaplaning treatment are instant gratification! This treatment is effective for making skin appear more youthful, extremely smooth, and bright. You don't need to plan any downtime to recover from a dermaplaning treatment.
Dermaplaning aids in the cellular turnover process by exfoliating the uppermost layer of dead skin cells. Because we naturally turn over skin cells every 6 to 8 weeks, dermaplanes are most effective in being done monthly. The removal of Vellus hair is a secondary benefit to a dermaplane. Since the Vellus hair is removed at the surface, regrowth will be seen within a couple of weeks.
Stay on top of your dermaplaning treatment plan. In general, you should be scheduling a dermaplaning facial about once a month to aid in cellular turnover & Vellus hair reduction.
There is typically no downtime with dermaplaning and can be performed on all skin types with the exception of inflammatory acne. You may experience redness or feel like your skin is sensitive for a few days post-treatment. You may notice that your skin looks brighter immediately after you're finished with a dermaplaning treatment, but it often takes a few days to appreciate the full results. As any redness subsides, you'll be able to see the results more clearly in the days afterward. It's common to feel a little stubble as your hair starts growing back in after dermaplaning. However, this doesn't mean that your hair is thicker or coarser. A dermaplaning treatment will not change the color or texture of your facial hair prior to treatment.
