Our FDA Cleared Rejuvapen is a microneedling device that uses a specialized "pen" containing a sterile, individualized cartridge with 12 small needles. These are tiny needles that lead to great results. The treatment itself feels a bit like sandpaper going over the skin. Some scarred areas can be more sensitive than others, so parts of the session will be less comfortable than others. You can anticipate your treatment to take a little over an hour, including numbing time. After the procedure, the skin will be red & sensitive with mild edema (swelling) and/or possible bruising. Although these symptoms may take 2-3 days to resolve completely, they will diminish significantly within a few hours after treatment. Approximately 48 to 72 hours after the treatment, you'll have an increase in collagen production. Based on cellular turnover & cell production, It will take at least 6 – 8 weeks to see noticeable results. Most patients benefit most from a series of treatments over several months, each with gradual results, to reach optimal skincare goals. Micro-needling can be safely repeated every four weeks until you achieve the desired results. For optimal collagen induction, we recommend starting with three treatments & a series of three to six treatments for scar reduction.
A Microneedling treatment can cause redness (similar to a mild sunburn), slight swelling, a stinging sensation, and a bit of tenderness. These effects can last a day to several days, depending on treatment depth, and the redness is usually easily camouflaged with makeup after the initial 24 hours post-treatment. Most patients can return to work and normal activities following the treatment.
