The purpose of receiving a PRP THERAPY treatment by Allied Medical Aesthetics is a procedure designed to improve your overall skin health and appearance. PRP Therapy, or “Liquid Gold” as we like to call it, is the perfect solution to stimulate cell growth within your own body as if the drill sergeant (the body) is asking its battalion (your skin cells) to stand up and do their job! The amazing benefits of PRP therapy use of your own blood cells to achieve firmer, younger-looking skin, stimulate hair growth, diminish the appearance of various types of scarring, increase facial volume by encouraging the body’s production of collagen, and much more.
During a PRP Therapy treatment, a small sample of your blood is taken & then processed by putting this sample directly into a centrifuge where your white blood cells (platelet-rich plasma) is separated from your red blood cells. Your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is then used in conjunction with treatments like our FDA-cleared Rejuvapen Microneedling device, as an injectable therapy and also with other sublative and/or fractional treatments as a secondary therapy/add-on to exemplify your treatment(s). PRP Therapy can assist in reversing signs of aging & improve skin texture by promoting new skin cell regeneration & stimulating the formation of dermal collagen & elastin production.
The technology is versatile and can be used to improve skin appearance and reverse the signs of aging on many parts of the body, including the most common being the face, neck, chest, and hands. It can be used to help skin look better by reducing and even eliminating acne scars & other various scars, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, hair restoration, and of course, fine lines and wrinkles.
PRP Therapy treatments start at $595 when paired with a microneedling treatment and range up to $800 + when used as an injectable therapy. Approximately 48 to 72 hours after the treatment you’ll have an increase in collagen production. Based on cellular turnover & cell production, It will take at least 6 – 8 weeks to start seeing noticeable results. The new production of collagen will last for several years, which is why PRP Therapy treatments are considered a longer-lasting treatment.
Though results & the new production of collagen may vary from person to person, PRP Therapy is expected to be long-lasting & will last for several years.
Most patients benefit most from a series of treatments over several months, each with gradual results, to reach optimal skin care goals. PRP can be safely repeated every 4 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For optimal collagen induction, we recommend starting with 3 treatments & a series of 3 to 6 for scar reduction.
PRP Therapy treatments with microneedling can cause redness (similar to a mild sunburn), light swelling, a stinging sensation, and a bit of tenderness. These effects can last a day to several days, depending on treatment depth, and the redness is usually easily camouflaged with makeup after the initial 24 hours post-treatment. Most patients can return to work and normal activities following the treatment. Potential swelling & some bruising is possible with your PRP Injection Therapy - plan 2 weeks ahead of any events/vacations.
