Stop retinoids and exfoliating products several days ahead unless told otherwise, arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotion and oils, and tell your provider about recent treatments, medications or active skin concerns.
Keep skin clean and moisturized and apply broad-spectrum SPF. Avoid picking or scratching, retinoids until cleared, exfoliating acids and scrubs, direct sun, saunas and excessive heat, and strenuous exercise right after treatment. Redness, warmth and a rough texture are normal as skin renews.
