HALO laser resurfacing in Westminster, CO

MOXI® vs. HALO® Laser: Which Is Right for Your Skin?

MOXI® is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser for brighter, smoother skin with minimal downtime, while HALO® is a stronger hybrid laser that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths for more dramatic resurfacing. Both are made by Sciton®, and the right choice depends on your concerns and how much downtime you can plan for.

How MOXI® works

MOXI® delivers fractional laser energy into the skin to refresh tone and texture and stimulate collagen. It is often called a "prejuvenation" laser because it suits younger clients who want to prevent damage, as well as anyone who wants a glow without much recovery.

  • Best for: early sun damage, uneven tone, dullness, enlarged pores, fine lines and rough texture
  • Downtime: redness and warmth for a day or two, then a few days of dry, sandpaper-like skin
  • Treatment plan: many see brighter skin after one session; a series gives the best results

How HALO® works

HALO® is the first hybrid fractional laser. It delivers a non-ablative 1470 nm wavelength and an ablative 2940 nm wavelength to the same microscopic treatment zones, treating both the surface and deeper layers.

  • Best for: moderate sun damage and pigment, deeper fine lines, larger pores, uneven texture and some acne scarring
  • Downtime: several days of redness, swelling and peeling, depending on your settings
  • Treatment plan: often one to three sessions, customized to your goals

MOXI® vs. HALO® at a glance

  • Intensity: MOXI® is gentler; HALO® is stronger.
  • Downtime: MOXI® is minimal; HALO® needs more planning.
  • Results per session: HALO® typically shows more change from one treatment; MOXI® builds results over a series.

Can you do both?

Yes. Some clients do a HALO® treatment for a major refresh and then maintain with MOXI®. Both pair well with BBL® photofacials for redness and brown spots.

Preparing and aftercare
